No Tongues

In this new creation, No Tongues‘ musicians explore the notions of repetition and pulse, inspired by ancient rituals and ceremonies, the group aims to create a state of euphoria that invites movement and circulation, as if enjoying a multifaceted kaleidoscope.

At the convergence point of the energies at play, a central two-meter-tall mast supports four lamps suspended on a cable. The swaying of the lamps, triggered by the musicians’ gestures, extends the hypnotic movement into the visual sphere.

They are also working with a choreographer Anne Reymann to create simple, repetitive and creative movements that the audience will be invited to reproduce during the show.

No Tongues remains unique in the current landscape, providing an evocative force of perfect originality.

Radical and poetic, the four Nantes-based members of No Tongues are adventurers of sound. Between a child’s gurgle and a dog’s sabbath, a buzzing transhumance and a Celtic procession, they orchestrate noisy, bewitching rituals of everyday life, where the ancestral chants of shamanic guests pierce through.
